Ronald, a self proclaimed "master of traps” and RPG dungeon master loves to spin cross genre adventures. The problem is that no one seems to appreciate them other than his Autistic Brother Ritchie and his Hopeful Girlfriend Stanzi. Ronald yearns to make his mark on the world as a dark storyteller and is pushed even further by constant ridicule and bullying by his peers toward he and his brother Ritchie. Things seem hopeless when almost as if by magic an invitation appears from Dr. Assmaninikolakativatombaroobanordikalla (AKA Dr. Darkness), who’s name is never short.... on jokes. The invitation from Dr. Darkness is to his annual Darkness Con which takes place at his castle deep in the country of Georgia next to Mt. Qaf. At the Darkness Con, a winner will be chosen of the "Darkest Dark Lord" competition and will receive a grand prize. The prize is an ancient artifact called "The Crown of Alexander" which gives the wearer the power to change the perceptions of the minds around them. THIS is Ronald’s chance he’s been waiting for.

    Stanzi’s job as the lead black hole researcher at NASA provides the means for them to research enough details about this mysterious “Darkness Con" for Ronald to answer this calling. Once at the Darkness Convention, Ronald discovers that there really are creatures and people like the ones in his stories with magical powers and mythic backgrounds. Sadly, Ronald still is met with ridicule for his “nerdy” attire in an ocean of Dark Lords. His ambitions to win the “Crown of Alexander” are abruptly interrupted when he and three others are simultaneously framed for a grisly murder. Among his alleged co-conspirators are; Mordecai a dread vampire wizard, Ganamazol a sorceress ninja queen and Jerry a shy recluse who morphs into Snakeman and speaks to reptiles telepathically. 

    They run for their lives from Dr. Darkness's second in command "Doorman" who is plagued by his nickname and coinciding lack of respect, Acadia a part cyborg with a laser eye who's a common guinea pig for Dr. Darkness's experiments and her love interest "Thuggy" your stereotypical big dumb goon with a soft spot for the environment. As if that wasn't bad enough, every single fan of Dr. Darkness, many of whom are powerful mythic and cross genre beings are also after blood. As they run for their lives they must also contend with the threat of each other as their personality differences and the past relationship drama between Ganamazol and Mordecai loose insults constantly as well as the occasional death threat. But as they unravel more clues to the mystery of proving their innocence, they find that they have no choice but to choose to work together and solve the mystery of who is trying to gather all the artifacts of Alexander the Great to perform the ritual of Magog to free the demon Gog and his hordes of Magog to pitch the world into eternal Darkness.

Armed with knowledge the reluctant allies must choose to clear their names or perform the ritual themselves becoming Gog’s First Order begging the question... "Who Will Decide How Much Darkness Is Too Dark?
